Every night they came here to dig up the road, add another section of pipe, fill in the hole and back again the next day for more. The information super highway didn't look so super close up. He was glad he wasn't down that hole, getting dirty and sweaty. "Don't you know it's summer!", he felt like shouting down the hole. Anyway they can keep digging their hole. Right round to Europe. He opened up the battery compartment and took out the pill and swallowed hard trying to avoid the bitter taste. Only another four hours 'til he was in the van dreaming of her.
